You can access the podcast here. My segment is about 2/3 of the way in. Nothing earthshattering, I just wanted to give a plug to DW on our show (Byte into IT, a technology show on RRR each Wednesday at 7pm). And now I've plugged my radio show on Dreamwidth.... it's a bit of a non-vicious geeky circle, isn't it!

I'm a listening and broadcaster on RRR, and I've been hanging out to hear where their annual holiday is to this year (they team up with Intrepid to offer a RRR tour hosted by one of their presenters each year - last year it was Morocco, year before that was Mexico)... and they finally started advertising it last night - it's India!
Cool. Details are here. I'll be over in the corner daydreaming about floating down the Ganges. :)

hi everyone,
thought i should probably introduce myself and invite you all to do the same. :)
i've travelled around pretty much my whole life, but i adopted melbourne to be my home some time ago. exploring melbourne is one of my favourite pass times.
i've lived on the northside *and* the southside (we have both kinds of music here, country AND western!) and i can say that i love both. right now i'm an elwood girl though.

Random things I <3 about Melbourne:

good places for brunch: turtle cafe in elwood until it burned down! their turtle benedict was double plus yum... mmm hash browns.

good places to take a puppy: the dog beach in brighton.

best fun at the Comedy Festival: Time Ninjas with Lawrence Leung & Andrew McLelland

my closest brush with celebrity at the Comedy Festival: Lawrence Leung stepping on my foot.

best laneway: Degraves

most overrated food: churros

most revolting public transport experience: peak hour on the sandringham line (just don't bother)

best public transport experience: catching a tram on st kilda road in the evening when you get the driver who sings over the PA.

Classic Melbourne thing I still haven't done: dinner on the tramcar restaurant.

ok, that's all from me, look forward to hearing what you guys love (and hate) about melbourne. :)
location: elwood

Welcome to the Melbourne community on Dreamwidth. Whether you live in our fair city, you're planning on visiting, or you just want to share your favourite Melbourne experiences, please feel free to share.

Special welcome to anyone dropping by from the melbournemaniac community on LJ. You guys inspired me to create this comm. :)

I will create a few community rules in the next couple of days, but basically they'll just be 'play nice and put large images under a cut zomg' common sense things.

I'll need to hunt up some nice Melbin icons too - feels kinda naked without one!
